CLARIFY means to dig deeper to understand what is confusing.

C Converse with a partner or group about the confusing part.

L Look for familiar parts in confusing words; look for connections to background knowledge in confusing paragraphs.

A Ask for help after making the page with a sticky note to discuss the problem later for a solution.

I Imagine the scene; create a mind movie to understand it.

F Find key words and phrases to figure out; Find words in dictionary or glossary.

Y Why? Ask questions to clarify words and phrases. Why did this happen? Why is this confusing? What part did I understand and where did I get confused?
